Good Morning! Do we have any guests with us today? You may have noticed that I am not always the person making announcements. That is because my board members have offered to help me out with this task…the will be covering for me if am out of town or have other pressing events. Thank you for understanding and welcoming them.

Lady Putters: We have many new gals that have joined Putters this year. I know I have asked weekly for us to be patient with them while they are learning what we are all about (FUN!) and and I am asking again…as some of our gals may not have heard this message last week… We are NOT a competitive group…we are a SOCIAL group. PLEASE lets not be overbearing or come on too strong…set’s remember our social graces! If the new putter wants help, let her ASK and PLEASE do not CRITICIZE!!!
Charity: Remember to bring in your donations for the school supplies fund for the San Manuel School District. At this point, monetary donations are extremely helpful…
Scorecards: We are using our new scorecards now and they seem to be working well. It may take some of us a bit longer to get used to them…lets be patient.
Monthly Luncheons –
Today is our monthly luncheon at the HOA#1 Vistas following Hawaiin Goofy Golf: …remember this is a fun event! Only one session at 8:30 a.m. with lunch following at the HOA#1 Vistas dining room at 11:00 a.m., doors open at 10:30…this is due to the extensive set up and take down from the committee. The menu: Chicken Fajitas, Refried Beans, Spanish Rice, with a Chips & Salsa bar, beverage station with water, iced tea, lemonade, reg & decaf coffee. We have resumed our 50/50 raffle and will use the funds to purchase door prizes for the attendees of the luncheon along with a drawing for gift cards leftover from the prize patrol..

We need someone to help out Mary Jo Schwartzberg on publicity…Everyone has signed up at least once to a committee, so if you want to sign up again., you may…
We do need workers for early course setup in July, Aug, Sept/Oct and Jan 2013.
MountainView Lady Putters and Saddlebrooke Ranchettes will be putting together here on June 11. There is a sign up sheet on the table for you to sign up. There will be ONE putting time at 8 a.m. with a brunch to follow at HOA#1 Vistas. The cost will be $14.50 which includes various quiche, muffins, coffee&tea (hot and cold) and prize money. Deadline to sign up is May 21st. At this point in time, we are not certain how many MountainView putters will be able to play, it depends on how many Ranchettes sign up. So, sign up anyway, because you may be able to play… If you are not selected but want to join us at the brunch…the cost is $12 so you should put your check in the yellow box by June 4, noon.
Moonlight Madness has been moved to July 2 due to the maintenance of the green. We did not have much say in this and found out so late, that we could only move the date out.

Checks for $15 payable to Mountain View Lady Putters are due TODAY in the yellow box. Remember to indicate in the memo portion of the check if you need a special meal.

Raye Cobb has informed me that she has mailed 350 box tops and 250 soup labels to 1st Ave Elementary School in San Manuel. We thank you all for being so diligent in bringing in those items. It really helps out the school.

Quail Creek here: Spring Match Play 2012 with Quail Creek here to putt on April 23, which is next week.. We will be putting on the MountainView green and then lunching at the Vistas at HOA#1. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., Quail Creek is scheduled to arrive at 9a.m. Please wear your pink shirts and white bottoms. We will begin putting at 9:30, and there will only be one session next week…if you haven’t been notified to pay your $17.50, then you will not be putting at this event…the menu is: chicken parmesan, mixed fresh veggies, rice pilaf, green salad with two dressings, rolls, butter and beverage bar with lemon cake for dessert. A cash bar will be available…

Putting Clinic: The HOA#2 golf pro, Mike Jahaske, is hosting a putting clinic for all our putters TODAY following the second session of putting. He will be here from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm for all of us to learn to putt better. Please plan on attending… he is a busy guy and we are blessed to be able to have him spend some of his time and experience with us in this game of Golf.
Putter/Partners Unfortunately, this event had to be cancelled due to the lack of signups. We needed at least 60 participants to break even and that didn’t happen…We will be looking at this event for a possible change next year…

Since we have a lot of new putters this year…lets all be gracious and helpful with them.
We were all new once…and sometimes it takes a round or two to get into the
“SWING”…Patience is a virtue…especially in the game of GOLF! Lets show the “newbies” just how much fun putting can be!!!
Scorecards: Based on general consensus, we will be using scorecard #3 on a trial basis starting today…make any comments on the back of the scorecard… We will use these for several weeks. Be sure to designate any guests that you may be playing with…And circle your Holes’-in-one and place a “star” beneath that Hole…it makes it so much easier for our scorekeeper!
Monthly Luncheons – Today at noon is our luncheon at the Vistas in the HOA#1 clubhouse…Hope to see a lot of you there! Our is speaker from the Southern Arizona Susan B. Komen Foundation. We WILL be accepting canned goods donations for the food bank at this luncheon,
We have resumed our 50/50 raffle and will use the funds to purchase door prizes for the attendees of the luncheon along with a drawing for gift cards leftover from the prize patrol..
Putting Clinic: The HOA#2 golf pro, Mike Jahaske, has agreed to host a putting clinic for all our putters on March 26th following the second session of putting.
He will be here from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm for all of us to learn to putt better.
Please plan on attending… he is a busy guy and we are blessed to be able to have him spend some of his time and experience with us in this game of Golf.
Putter/Partners event is March 28th. at the MountainView Putting Course and Mesquite Grill. Registration is at 3:30pm with a no host bar. Putting will start at 4 pm and dinner at 6 pm The dinner menu is: Italian Buffet which includes: Tossed Green Salad with assorted dressings, Penne Pasta w/meat sauce, Chicken Parmesan W/marinara sauce, garlic bread, Hot Fudge Sundae w/whipped cream, iced tea, hot tea and coffee. Cost is $24 per person and we are limited to 36 putters/36 partners. deadline for signups is March 14, 2012 with checks due by noon March 21, 2012.
We still need workers for committees that come up later in the year., such as July …

Quail Creek here: Our friends from Quail Creek will come here to putt on April 23. We will be putting on the MountainView green and then lunching at the Vistas at HOA#1. The cost will be $17 per putter for the “Spring Match Play”

Menu is ½ smoked turkey breast sandwich on wheat berry bread, lettuce, and tomato, pickle on plate with mustard and mayo on tables, along with a cup of
Albondigas soup, Guiness chocolate pudding for dessert, water, iced tea, lemonade, reg and decaf coffee .and rolls & butter.

Our past Presidents have been invited to this luncheon; Menu is Chicken Pot Pie in Puff Pastry with Rice and Salad, Iced Tea and Coffee, with Cherry Pie for desert.
We will be awarding the annual LouAnn Garvin Tiger of the Year, Roadrunner of the year and Hole in Wonder Annual award.
Reminder: At this luncheon we will be voting on the change to our by-laws, temporarily suspending the position of Vice President for the year 2012.

Our next luncheon is April 9 at the HOA#1 Vistas at 11 a.m.,doors will open at 10:30 a.m. The menu is: rolls and butter, tossed green salad, ranch & raspberry vinaigrette dressings, bacon and cheddar quiche, with Jello parfait for dessert. water, iced tea, lemonade, reg & decaf coffees. The cost is $15 and checks are today at noon.. If you have dietary restrictions, please indicate such on the memo portion of your check which should be made payable to MVLP. At this luncheon we will be focusing on our Charities. and our speaker will be from San Manuel school district. We have resumed our 50/50 raffle and will use the funds to purchase door prizes for the attendees of the luncheon along with a drawing for gift cards leftover from the prize patrol..

Our meeting with the Saddlebrooke Men’s Putters was cancelled …they did not want to hold it due to poor turnout for their Putters/Sputters event…those putters who signed up to work have been offered to work on other events including our meeting with the Ranch.
